Bottles4College Scholarships
The Bottles4College Scholarship is open for eligible Hawaii students who call the islands home.
This scholarship is fully funded through environmental efforts. Our vision and goal is to fund larger scholarships as we grow as an organization and a movement!This scholarship is very exciting as it is entirely made possible from trash diversion via recyclable HI 5¢ cans & bottles. From trash to treasure, we are making steps to help our education while protecting our aina!

Jaxon Pang - Grand Prize Awardee, $10,000 Scholarship
Through listening to Jaxonʻs story, our board got to connect with this student and hear how close they were to our island home and how he resonated with Bottles4College’s 4 pillars and to our mission. We also got to see his dedication through the years, juggling many different hats as a student, athlete, and more; and cannot wait to see him further all of his passions going into college.
Jaxon Pang will be attending Arizona State University to major in aeronautical management technology (professional flight) and play division one roller hockey for ASU. This year’s B4C Grand Prize Awardee is Myron B. Thompson Academy’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian, stands as Hawaii’s NHL Youth Advisor, and stood a National Honors Society President. -
Raphael Stark - Finalist Awardee, $2,500 Scholarship
Bottles4College aims to support students on all pathways, whether it be academic or creative, we want to support your dreams and goals. We also know how hard it can be to overcome obstacles and the strength needed to persevere and work to make a change. Raphael Stark was selected for his work to raise awareness and for his dedication to creating a voice for his community through his nonprofit, CHATS. This organization works to make a safe space for youth and spreading education and support for those with speech challenges. We cannot wait to see what Raphael will be able to create and we commend him for his efforts to bring students and communities together.
Raphael Stark is a homeschool student graduating Magna Cum Laude and will be majoring in film production at the Savannah College of Arts and Design. -
Nathalie Mae-Leano - Finalist Awardee, $2,500 Scholarship
This year, we get to celebrate our first ever neighbor island recipient.
Maui is a special place for Bottles4College. Just over a year ago to we delivered our Bottles4MAUI disaster relief funding directly to those affected by the Lahaina fires, with the Aloha from our Oahu community that helped us collect Over 100,000 cans and bottles, we were able to support a family and an individual working in the burn zone to be begin rebuilding. while it was just a small step towards helping rebuild, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to do so.
Having a connection to community is something we take very strongly, and is what helped Nathalie Mae-Leano standout. Her dedication to her community and to her goals are commendable, and we are excited to see what her future holds.
Nathalie Mae-Leano is graduating Summa Cum Laude with Academic and CTE honors from Maui High. She is majoring in pre-med at the University of Portland. -
Mason Yamane - Bottles4College 4 Schools Scholarship, $1,000 Scholarship
This year, Bottles4College launched our Bottles4College 4 Schools Program. This is a year long activation partnership we do with schools to give their students the opportunity to spearhead environmental efforts through Bottles4College at their school and community.
This program aims to show students why environmental work is important, what it takes to create these efforts, and further their education. Students also receive student volunteer hours through gaining hands-on experiences in sustainability work. As an added goal, if a school recycles enough throughout the year, they unlock a Bottles4College scholarship specifically for a student from their school.
In the 2025 school year, one of the schools we launched this pilot program at was Kailua High. Through the collaboration with their student body and their leadership class, the school created a scholarship for a student they nominated.
Mason Yamane is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kailua High School and was a part of his school’s National Honor Society with multiple recognitions including the Peter R Marsh Silent Service Servant Award. He will be majoring in Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. -
Bailey-Madison Meana - Bottles4College 4 Schools Scholarship, $500 Scholarship
Bottles4College partnered with two schools in our launch of the Bottles4College 4 Schools Program, one of them was Kapolei High School. With our community looking for a Bottles4College location to support on the west side of Oahu, we are very excited to hold this partnership.
In the first year of this program, Bottles4College presented Kapolei High with a $500 scholarship for their recycling efforts. The school chose to nominate the student who was leading the 4 Schools Program.
Bailey-Madison Meana is graduating Cum Laude from Kapolei High School with academic and CTE honors and has gotten her Nurse Aide license with HPH. She will be majoring in pre-med at Oregon Tech University. -
Joelle Angelica Evasco - Supply Scholarship, $1,000 Scholarship
Bottles4College is all about supporting those who want to give back. Joelle Angelica Evasco’s passion and dedication to wanting to give back to her community and to the Earth stood out. Her goal to support wildlife and care for them. Her incredibly bright personality shine in her video essay and really showed how much she cares about her community.
Joelle Angelica Evasco is graduating Summa Cum Laude and as Waianae High’s Valedictorian. She has been a part of many clubs including the Waianae High student council. She will be majoring in Animal Science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. -
Kaylee Cieri - Supply Scholarship, $1,000 Scholarship
In 2021, Bottles4College held its very first recycling drive at King Intermediate right down the road. We were still only dreaming of being able to recycle a million cans and bottles and were nervous to hold a drive to that scale. But, thanks to our community and to a wonderful group of volunteers, we had an incredible event, recycling over 1 ton of cans and bottles that rainy day. One of those volunteers, despite being out of her comfort zone, joined us for many events when we were first growing, and since has shown her own personal growth. Then, we could only talk and hope to be able to give out scholarships through our environmental efforts, but now that hope is a reality and is being able to support those same students.
Kaylee Cieri is graduating Summa Cum Laude and as Castle High’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian. She served as a member of her school’s National Honor Society, Thespian Honors Society, was an honors performance arts students, and has been received multiple honors recognitions. She will be majoring in stage management at PACE university in New York.
The Bottles4College Scholarship 2025 was highlighted by students who work relentlessly in their passions in and out of the classroom, the launch of our Bottles4College 4 Schools Program and with our first neighbor island awardee. With a total of 7 scholarships and a grand total of $18,500 granted through environmental efforts. Just prior to our scholarship opening, Bottles4College additionally gave out $10,000 directly to those affected by the Maui wildfires through our disaster releif program, Bottles4MAUI.

Alyssa Pong - Grand Prize Awardee, $10,000 Scholarship
Taking action is the mission of Bottles4College. Taking initiative and going beyond your comfort zone to create new experiences and efforts for yourself and those around you reveals new pathways you never knew existed before. Alyssa Pongʻs dedication to her family, her studies, and interest in expanding her horizons resonates closely with Bottles4College.
Alyssa Pong is graduating Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian from Mililani High with CTE and academic honors. She has also made Leeward Community Collegeʻs Deanʻs List as an early admit student and have been a part of multiple academic and athletic clubs. She plans to major in business data analysis and study psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

William Chen - Grand Prize Awardee, $10,000 Scholarship
As an environmental nonprofit, supporting endeavors to protect our planet is always important to Bottles4College. This awardee has had a consistent pursuit in STEM and athletics, working to overcome challenges in the classroom and on the court to learn how to further his skills while also giving back to the environment.
William Chen is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kailua High. He has served on the Kailua High Student Board of Affairs, was an officer for his schoolʻs National Honors Society and competed in varsity sports. He will be majoring in biochemical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Anica Brewer - Finalist Awardee, $1,000 Scholarship
Bottles4College believes creativity is the key to growth. Being deeply rooted in your community and connected with your fellow peers helps boost that creativity and impact you can make. This student has had a long history in creative media and has shown compassion to others both in her creative outlets and as a community member.
Anica Brewer is graduating Magna Cum Laude from Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA). Anica Brewer has been deeply interested in film and production, having been trained by Olelo Community Media and volunteering as a crew member, editor, manager, and producer for an array of Hawaiiʻs events and for her schoolʻs film group. She plans to major in film production at Grand Canyon University.

Selena Vixayvong - Finalist Awardee, $1,000 Scholarship
In Hawaii, we see millions visit our islands per year. As a part of this, we must put out efforts to bring environmental awareness to both visitors and the local community so we can continue to live on these islands and so those from across the globe can continue to enjoy our beautiful home. This student plans to learn ways to do so, the same way Bottles4College does so through our efforts.
Selena Vixayvong is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kailua High with CTE honors. She has been a part of many clubs of her school and stood as a member of the Hawaii State Student Council and as a Pledge to our Keiki Ambassador. She plans to major in tourism business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
The Bottles4College Scholarship 2024 awardees all aim to push to new horizons with the goal of giving back to their community. A total of 4 scholarships were awarded this year with a grand total of $22,000 granted.

Taejah Ray Telles-Kuwahara - Grand Prize Awardee, $10,000 Scholarship
Bottles4College aims to support all passions, whether it be creative, academic, or athletics. Our first Grand Prize awardee has been committed to high competition in her sport while also maintaining being a student-athlete.
Taejah Ray Telles-Kuwahara is graduating Cum Laude from Radford High School. She is a national cheer champion and plans to major in pre-med and continue competing in cheer at Weber State University.

Maricar Juntura - Grand Prize Awardee, $10,000 Scholarship
College is highly important, but can also be very difficult to get to. Bottles4College looks to raise accessibility to higher education, pushing students to strive for their dreams and to reach their highest potential. This student has worked hard to become a first generation college student with the goal to come back to the community she grew up in to be a teacher, becoming a role model for future students to continue working hard and aiming for the moon.
Maricar Juntura is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Farrington High School. She was a part of the T-Shirt Theater group, served as a part of her schoolʻs National Honors Society, was an AVID tutor, a Public Service Academy Ambassador, and graduated with Academic and CTE honors and a seal of biliteracy in Tagalog. She plans to major in mathematics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Abby Fujii
This student has been a dedicated community member, volunteering much of her free time to service projects and community giveback opportunities. She has a large interest in natural sciences and plans to broaden her horizons in this feild.
Abby Fujii is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Pearl City High School. She was a part of her schoolʻs marching band and math team, and was a part of the Leo Club. She plans to major in natural sciences at the University of Hawaii West Oahu.

Dakoda Keni - Finalist Awardee, $500 Scholarship
In Hawaii, we treat everyone like ohana, especially our surrounding community. This student wants to give back to her ohana and help lead the next generation of athletes.
Dakode Keni is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kahuku High School. An avid athlete and a member of her schoolʻs Student Government and HOSA, she plans to major in physical therapy at West Liberty University.

Teani Kauffman - Finalist Awardee, $500 Scholarship
This student has been a part of both athletic and community groups, working to one day study medicine to support Hawaii as a doctor.
Teani Kauffman is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kamehameha Schools with honors recognition and an Associates Degree from Hawaii Pacific University. She plans to major in pre-med at the University of Utah.
The Bottles4College Scholarship 2023 is the first ever year of Bottles4College scholarship awarding. This is the first stepping stone in our dedication to supporting students from Hawaii! 5 scholarships were awarded this year with a grand total of $21,500 granted.
